The Agile Project Leadership Network (APLN) is a 501(c)6 non profit organization that is focused on making people great project leaders by focusing on the following:

  • Context
  • Teams
  • Individuals
  • Uncertainty
These ideas are described further in the Declaration of Interdependence, which was written by the founding members of APLN and expresses the values that the group holds with respect to leading projects in today's chaotic world.

APLN Board Update

The APLN Board met in Salt Lake City on July 17-18. It was a lively meeting and we feel the APLN at the national and local levels can have a positive impact on the agile community. We tried, successfully we think, to use our new vision statement in arriving at initiatives and action items that will both further our visions and are doable (Our new vision statement is “Accelerate Agility: Connect and Engage to Transform Your Enterprise”).

What is Agile?

There seems to be a segment, maybe even a large segment, of the agile community who are becoming overly prescriptive--as in "these 6 practices and 4 values, and only these, make you agile. But agility means adapting to change and even adapting to specific circumstances, not prescriptive solutions. so "What is Agile? APLN Board Update

The APLN board has been busy since our last update. A summary of what we’ve done:

Based on our discussion
s at the board meeting in Houston and
committee deliberation since then, we have agreed on a new vision statement for APLN: Accelerate Agility: Connect and Engage to Transform your Enterprise. This statement reflects our growing emphasis on enterprise-wide agility and a focus on agile leadership.
